Join us for a captivating illustrated talk by local historian Jim Scannell, who will explore how the people of Wicklow endured the extraordinary six-week Siberian-style winter of 1947—one of the harshest in living memory.

Discover how entire villages like Roundwood, Glencree & Rathdrum were cut off by massive snowdrifts, transport ground to a halt, homes were left freezing amid severe fuel shortages, families faced hunger as supply lines collapsed and the eventual thaw revealed the true scale of hardship and loss.
