In this account of his life and times [the Irish Bar, fellow judges, Dublin theatre, the life style of Irish gentry, his political career] he includes the story of Mr Dennis Bodkin's ears [p.24-5] -- an account of the day on which he first took his seat in the Irish Parliament for the city of Tuam' [p95-6] -- 'RULES for the practice of duelling and points of honour settled at Clonmell Summer Assizes [Clonmel], 1777, by the gentlemen delegates of Tipperary, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Roscommon, and prescribed for general adoption throughout Ireland' and 'Additional Galway Articles' [p261-5].
