This is a handwritten letter, written in 1694 by Sir Richard Cox, the Recorder of Kinsale, who was also the Author of "Hibernia Anglicana". It deals with his efforts to suppress and defeat the "Tories" who were bandits and outlaws in Cork at the time, and who were often those driven from their lands by the plantations that accompanied the Tudor and Stuart Conquests of Ireland during that era.
